Britten Solo Suites CD out 14th November
Amalie Stalheim brings new life to Britten’s masterpiece, originally written for the legendary Mstislav Rostropovich. This album is a tribute to the power and expression of the solo cello, and an invitation to experience Britten’s music anew – through a modern voice with classical weight.

Amalie Stalheim has been granted the use of the 1783 G.B. Guadagnini cello from the start of the 2025–26 season. On loan from Dextra Musica foundation Norway
Artist in Residence 2026-2028
Amalie Stalheim as ”Artist in Residece” at Musica Vitae chamber orchestra in Sweden. At the season opening in autumn 2026 at Nygatan 6, she will play and lead Musica Vitae in Haydn's Cello Concerto in D major, a work described as Haydn's declaration of love for the cello.

Award-winning cellist Amalie Stalheim is celebrated for her intense musicality, bold artistry, and compelling stage presence.
She has performed as a soloist with many of Europe’s leading orchestras, and the 2024/25 season features exciting highlights, with solo performances alongside the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra, Arctic Philharmonic Orchestra, Riga Sinfonietta, Antalya Symphony Orchestra, Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, and Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra.
Deeply dedicated to expanding the cello repertoire, Amalie is as passionate about the great classics as she is about music of today. In addition to performing traditional cello concertos, she actively commissions and premieres new works by some of the most exciting composers of the 21st century, continuously pushing the boundaries of her instrument and inspiring audiences worldwide.
